About My Fuel Prices

I'm James Burfield, and this is my site. I build independent UK data sites: take a public dataset, make it genuinely useful. My Fuel Prices is the one for fuel.

What it does

It shows live pump prices for every registered forecourt in the UK, around 8,052 of them. You can find the cheapest petrol or diesel near you, or check prices by town, postcode or brand. The data refreshes every day.

Where the prices come from

Every price comes from the government's official Fuel Finder open data, published under the Open Government Licence. Retailers are legally required to report their pump prices, so the numbers here are the same ones the government publishes to satnavs and comparison sites. There's more detail on the data page.

How I keep it honest

• No retailer pays to appear here or to rank higher. Stations are ranked purely on price.
• The price shown is the standard price at the pump, before any loyalty card or fuel-card discount.
• Every page shows when its data was last updated.
• If a price looks wrong, email me and I'll check it against the source.
